Relief of Poverty Charity – Grants for individuals

Aims and Objectives
Wokingham United Charities aims to relieve poverty, hardship or distress of persons resident in our ‘the area of benefit’ by providing grants for organisations and individuals that tackle disadvantage.

This charity relieves generally or individually, persons resident in the area of benefit who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress by making grants of money or providing or paying for items, services or facilities calculated to reduce the need, hardship or distress of such persons.

Our ‘area of benefit’ covers the five civil Parishes of:

·         Wokingham

·         Finchampstead

·         Wokingham Without

·         St Nicholas Hurst

·         Ruscombe

In the main these grants are delivered via various support agencies and many items are acquired through community furniture projects.

The trustees believe that the supply of goods such as furniture and other items through the community projects is the way forward as these items are reasonably priced, they are being reused and it enables the resources of the charity to go further and therefore help more people.

The trustees fund applications for grants particularly from agencies such as Social workers, Doctor or similar professionals who act as your referrer for your application.

The charity is unable to:
